Thousands of years of natural selection have created one of the hardiest, most resilient trees on earth, the olive. The ravages of time have brought floods (remember what type of leaf was in Noah's dove's beak?!), droughts, frosts and countless attacks from viruses, bacteria, fungi and disease and yet some varieties of olive trees survive, and thrive.
In 1996, after more than twenty years working with this noble tree, our family made a significant medical breakthrough. We discovered that it is a powerful synergy of defence compounds in certain olive tree leaves that enable the trees to live for more than 1,000 years.
It took us a further five years of research and discovery to develop a system to scientifically grow, harvest, freshly-extract and, very importantly, protect the key compounds of this unique tree's defence system.
We also needed to answer the crucial question of, 'Which genetic strain of olive leaves contains the very best synergy of health-giving compounds?'
After scientifically testing 60 olive varieties from 12 countries we had the answer we needed to confidently plant more than 500,000 trees (that's a lot of hole-digging!) in what is now the world's largest specialised olive leaf grove.
2001 saw the launch of our family's 'Olive Leaf Australia Extract'. It was so well accepted by the public, health practitioners and medical community that sales quickly soared to up to $3 million a month, in Australia alone!
Today, our family grows and manufactures an olive leaf supplement like no other, 'MediOlive® Olive Leaf Complex', and it is rapidly being embraced by health-loving people across the globe.
